Blu Ray and DVD due for release in September:
“The Great Gatsby” defined F. Scott Fitzgerald as one of the greatest novelists of his time, defying conventions. His story, however, is no longer confined in the pages as it’s just been adapted into a spectacular version directed by the inimitable Baz Luhrmann.
The movie is set around in New York, in 1929. Nick Carraway has abandoned his career as a bonds seller and instead finds himself in a sanitarium, battling alcohol addiction and depression. But a therapy session reveals the cause of it all: his neighbor, Gatsby, who owns a lavish mansion besides Carraway’s rented house; his deep obsession with Nick’s cousin, Daisy, and the horrific ending of a complex love story and betrayal that only Nick knows about.
Baz Luhrmann’s “Great Gatsby” has been a spectacular hit around the world and has spawned hit soundtrack albums, and singles including “Young And Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey and “Over The Love” by Florence + the Machine
